Servant of God Mgr Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas, the former Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore and the Founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany was a holy priest of the Diocese of Mangalore. His memory is fresh in us, though he went to his eternal abode in the year 1960. He is remembered for his pastoral zeal and commitment.

Mgr Mascarenhas was a renowned educationist of his time and visualized education as a means to give life and transform the ignorant, especially the poor and the girls.

Book release

It was on 17th August 2017, just before the conclusion of the annual education meet, there came a great surprise to all the members.  It was the releasing of the book “Sparkling Flame” that unfolded the story of a holy man RFC Mascarenhas the Servant of God by Sr Mable Antony BS.  It was a tribute to the Servant of God and a feather in the cap of Southern Province whose initiative especially of Sr Santhosh Maria, the Provincial Superior of Southern Province and her councilors in bringing out this pictorial life story of Mgr Raymond F.C.Mascarenhas. Congratulations to Sr Mable Antony, the author who with the special blessings of our Founder accomplished this mission.

‘Sparkling Flame’ is an effort of the dream of Sr Mable Antony a teacher of St Michael’s Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Westhill, Kozihikode in Kerala, a school nurtured by the Servant of God RFC Mascarenhans.

Mr Raveendranathan PT pictured the entire life of the founder of Bethany in this book. He hails from Kozhikode. He is a drawing master in St. Michael’s Girls’ Higher Secondary School, Westhill, Kerala. 

The story of a holy man RFC Mascarenhas is unfolded in ‘Sparkling Flame.’  May all who read this book be filled with light of wisdom and become a flame ever sparkling.

During the ceremonial release of the book in the presence of the august assembly of the educators by Sr Rose Celine the Superior General, the achievement of Southern Province especially with reference to this book were lauded. Sr Mable Antony and Mr Raveendranathan PT were congratulated and felicitated with a bouquet of flowers, a shawl and a basket of fruits.  All were jubilant singing the praises of God.
