Servant of God Mgr Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas, the former Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore and the Founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany was a holy priest of the Diocese of Mangalore. His memory is fresh in us, though he went to his eternal abode in the year 1960. He is remembered for his pastoral zeal and commitment.

Mgr Mascarenhas was a renowned educationist of his time and visualized education as a means to give life and transform the ignorant, especially the poor and the girls.

51st Death Anniversary of RFC

The 51st Death Anniversary of Mgr Raymond Francis Mascarenhas, the founder of the congregation of the Sisters of the Liottle Power of Bethany (Bethany Sisters), was observed at Bendur Church, on Friday December 23. On this Occassion, floral tributes were oddered at his grave located at St Sebestian church in Bendur. Fr. Antony Serrao, the parish priest of St. Sebestian’s  Church, Bendur,officiated at the Eucharistic Celebration. Fr. J B Saldhana, professor at St. Joseph’s seminary, Jeppu, Concelebrated the mass. Fr. Antony Serrao in his homily, Spotlighted the holiness of Servant of God.

Shoan Galen Fernandes, a student of St Theresa English Medium School, offered Flower bouquet at the grave of the Servant of God. Bethany Superior General, Sr Lillis B S, secretary of Bethany Educational Society, Sr Rose Celine BS, Mr Eliyas Fernandes, And Mr Raymond D’Cunha, were some of those who were present on this solemn ocassion. A large number of  teachers and students from various schools made a commitent to live tha ideals of this great Founding Visionary of Bethany Educational Society. Parishoners of Bendur in large numbers attended the ceremony.
