Welcome to Our Site...

Servant of God Mgr Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas, the former Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore and the Founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany was a holy priest of the Diocese of Mangalore. His memory is fresh in us, though he went to his eternal abode in the year 1960. He is remembered for his pastoral zeal and commitment.

Mgr Mascarenhas was a renowned educationist of his time and visualized education as a means to give life and transform the ignorant, especially the poor and the girls.

Casa Bethania Rome and Aquviva:50th Death Anniversary Celebrations

9th Dec. 2010 was a joyful occasion for the Bethany Sisters of Acquaviva and Rome as we celebrated the 50th death anniversary of our Founder. We had the thanksgiving Eucharistic celebration at 11.00 am with Rector and the Vice Rector of Pontificio Collegio Russicum, Rome. Rector was the main celebrant.

On 23rd Dec, 2010, before the day break the Bethany Sisters were on their toes to proceed towards the Vatican City for the joyful celebration of the Golden Jubilee of the Founder’s entry into heaven. Besides the Bethany Sisters there were priests, religious and lay to share in our joy on this auspicious day, the 50th death anniversary of our Founder.
The Eucharistic Celebration had commenced at 8.00 am in St. Clementine Chapel, which is close to St. Peter’s tomb, in the crypt of the Basilica of St. Peter. It was very significant for us because our Founder celebrated Mass in the same Chapel when he had visited Rome. The main celebrant, Fr. Eugene Lobo, SJ delivered a touching homily on this auspicious occasion. He spelt out the holiness and sanctity of our Founder and how the charism and spirituality is still very active and alive in the Church  in and through Bethany.
