Welcome to Our Site...

Servant of God Mgr Raymond Francis Camillus Mascarenhas, the former Vicar General of the Diocese of Mangalore and the Founder of the Congregation of the Sisters of the Little Flower of Bethany was a holy priest of the Diocese of Mangalore. His memory is fresh in us, though he went to his eternal abode in the year 1960. He is remembered for his pastoral zeal and commitment.

Mgr Mascarenhas was a renowned educationist of his time and visualized education as a means to give life and transform the ignorant, especially the poor and the girls.

North East province:50th Death Anniversary Celebrations

The befitting day dawned on 14th December 2010 in the North East province at the Provincial House, Guwahati for the Bethany daughters to come around their dear Founder for a symphony of communion. The Holy Eucharist at 11.00 a.m. was officiated by the main celebrant, Most Rev Thomas Menamparambil, Archbishop of the Archdiocese of Guwahati. While addressing the gathering the Archbishop said, “We have to emulate the great example of Mgr Raymond.”
Sr. Noeline, the Provincial Superior welcomed the audience gathered for the felicitation programme. The surprising rare moment during the felicitation programme   was when one of the audience Fr Lawrence Pereira, SVD, a native of Omzoor Parish in Mangalore  rose up to narrate the stimulating reminiscences of his association as a young boy with Mgr RFC.  It was inspiring to hear him while he said, “Father Raymond had a motherly heart towards the fellow priests in the diocese, and had a great capacity to handle differences with a calm demeanor. His person radiated holiness; he was a man of the Rosary spreading devotion of the Rosary in the parishes and his sermons were unsurpassable. A sermon that he preached on a Good Friday made many a believers shed tears  at the pain and faith emanating from  the Calvary event.”
